SAPULPA VIRTUAL ACADEMY
Sapulpa Virtual Academy is a blended approach to education that includes full or partial online delivery of instruction with an element of student control over the time, place, path, and/or pace of learning. The academy is open to all students, Kindergarten through 12th, who are enrolled at Sapulpa Public Schools.
Sapulpa Virtual Academy is free and offers three options; Full-time enrollment, Hybrid enrollment, and Credit Recovery. Each student will receive a school-issued
Chromebook
to complete coursework, access to highly-qualified, certified teachers for assistance, a virtual lab during regular school hours for one-on-one instruction, and the opportunity to maintain a sense of school pride through extra-curricular and after-school activities, all while learning from home.
FULL-TIME STUDENTS
Secondary students may apply to enroll in Sapulpa Virtual Academy on a full-time basis, and each course must be started from the beginning of the semester. Full-Time virtual students are responsible for completing all courses and must be completed by the end of the semester in which the classes were assigned.
A virtual learning computer lab will be located in the high school library and will be available for students during the
regular school day hours
. Certified teachers, specific to content areas, will be available during the day to assist via phone or face-to-face interaction in the computer lab. A schedule and telephone numbers for assistance will be made available to virtual students.
Students who would like to participate in a competitive activity such as athletics, band, choir, etc, will be required to attend the class associated with the activity at the school site as part of the regular school day schedule and be subject to
OSSAA academic eligibility rules
for participation in extracurricular activities.
HYBRID STUDENTS
These students are enrolled in a combination of online classes (first-time credit) and classes in a traditional classroom. Hybrid classes are scheduled during the school day as part of the regular schedule and are subject to
OSSAA academic eligibility rules
for participation in extracurricular activities. This option is available to students in 10th through 12th grades. 10th graders may take up to two virtual courses including one career course.
This option is beneficial to those students who want to take two classes that are only offered at the same time, those students who want to take an additional class, or those students who want to take a class that is not offered on campus.
CREDIT RECOVERY STUDENTS
These students are making up a class they have either failed or did not complete.
HOW TO ENROLL
