Chieftain Stronger Bond 2023

Building a Stronger Sapulpa

In 2014, prior to the passage of the Chieftain Strong bond issue which funded numerous district projects over nine years, the long-range planning committee identified a need for a new Sapulpa High School. The group outlined a master plan for future bond issues, with 2023 as the target date for a bond proposal to construct a new high school campus.

In the fall of 2022, Sapulpa Public Schools began a series of site needs assessments and community and district meetings to develop a 2023 bond issue to fund the building of a new Sapulpa High School and other crucial district projects.

Planning meetings included interactive feedback and surveys from teachers, parents, students, city and county leaders and community members. Following the assessments and meetings, SPS administration and an appointed long-range planning committee, which included a financial consultant, put together a completed bond resolution.

That resolution was approved unanimously by the Sapulpa Public Schools Board of Education on July 10, 2023, and the bond issue will go before voters on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
