TRANSPORTATION

Thank you for accessing our Transportation page. Here you will find information regarding bus rider eligibility, driving for Sapulpa Public Schools, a school district boundary map, and an activity tracker for district-owned vehicles for school purposes.

We employ 20 drivers for our 19 school buses, four 14-passenger vans, and two activity buses. We transport more than 1,250 students (612 elementary and 644 secondary) 1,115 miles on a daily basis.

BUS RIDER ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility for bus transportation is based on Sapulpa Public Schools' Walk Zone policy and Enrollment policy:
  • Elementary age students are eligible if they live more than 1.5 miles from their home school or if must cross a major roadway to get to school.
  • Middle, Junior, and High School-aged students must live more than 1.5 miles from their home school.
  • Transfer students are NOT ELIGIBLE for transportation.
  • Eligibility for any student to ride a bus is conditional on good behavior, observance of bus rules, and Sapulpa Public Schools policies.
Please use this district map to view elementary school attendance zones, walking hazard zones, and bus stop locations. Pull up this link to search your home address to see which elementary school zone you live.

INTERESTED IN DRIVING FOR SAPULPA PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

To drive a school bus for Sapulpa Schools, a school bus driver must possess a Commercial Driver License (CDL) class "B" with a school bus (S) and a passenger (P) endorsement, and without an air brake restriction.  The Department of Public Safety (DPS) administers the CDL program. Additionally, drivers must possess a School Bus Driving Certificate issued by the State Department of Education (SDE). The requirements to receive the certificate include a current CDL, drug and alcohol testing, health certification, background checks, and completion of an approved school bus driving training class of at least 19 hours.

In addition to the above requirements, the State Department of Education regulations require Oklahoma certified school bus drivers to attend a minimum of four (4) hours of professional development in-service each year. Here's more information about Oklahoma Public School Bus Service.  Are you ready? Fill out an application and let's get driving!
