About Bartlett Academy

As part of Sapulpa School District’s family of schools, Bartlett Academy offers an alternative learning experience outside the main campus of Sapulpa Jr./Sr. High. Located in south Sapulpa as a stand-alone campus, Bartlett Academy is a school of choice for 8th through 12th-grade students who need a smaller learning environment.

Our teachers and staff take a “whole child” approach to education. We believe students should be healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. Bartlett Academy maintains a student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1 and offers a unique opportunity that provides greater access to counseling, and supports innovative teaching techniques through project-based learning and life-skills education.

Many of our students have had negative experiences in school. It is our goal to restore the love of learning that is unique to each child. Additional goals include helping students get back on track with their cohort members by increasing the number of academic credits earned, increasing student attendance, and decreasing the number of students that drop out. We do all of this by personalizing learning for each individual student and making sure they have the needed supports, based on their circumstances. In addition, we are working to increase each student’s commitment to their community through various service learning projects.

The teachers who work at Bartlett Academy are all highly experienced Alternative Education teachers who truly care about all of their students. In addition, they are flexible and open-minded and know how to lead all willing students toward academic success. Classes are designed to challenge each student’s abilities while remaining accessible to all.

Bartlett does not issue diplomas. Instead, we assist students in meeting the requirements of their sending school. The sending school grants the diploma.

Bartlett’s core instruction focuses on real-life, authentic learning and assessment. We want all students to graduate with the following 21st-century competencies: collaborative, critical thinkers, who are creative and able to communicate orally and in writing; who are media and information literate. Students will be engaged in developing projects aligned with these competencies. Student voice and choice are important to the staff as well as providing relevant, real-life application of education. Students are encouraged to collaborate with each other, explore their interests, use technology, and expand their minds and ideas.
