Ping Pings add a new state title

Sapulpa Ping Pings 2023-24(SPS) -- Downtown Tulsa's Cox Business Convention Center was packed with dancers, dance teams, parents and coaches from across the state Saturday. The cheering section for the award-winning, multi-national champion Sapulpa High School Ping Ping Dance Team was bigger than ever.

The Ping Pings won the title of 5A Champion in the Mix dance category. They were state runner-up in the 5A kick dance category. They also earned a new title: Social Media Team of the Year, for their fan engagement and support from the community. This is the 11th year in a row the Ping Pings have won a state title.

The Pings also danced away with an award for Outstanding Costume for their kick routine at the Oklahoma State Dance Team Directors Association (OSDTDA) Competition.

The Ping Pings received 3rd place for their Large Senior Ensemble. 

Practice is far from over for our Pings. In fact, it's only just begun. They will head to the national DTU (Dance Team Union) in Orlando, FL, February 9-11, after placing first at the regional DTU competition in Broken Arrow last month.

In February, 2023, the Pings were named the national DTU champions in Large Varsity Team Performance and Small Varsity High Kick for the second year in a row. Way to go, Pings!
