Keeping Sapulpa Schools Safe
The safety and security of students, staff members, and visitors is the top priority at Sapulpa Public Schools. Fire drills, severe weather drills, and intruder drills are just a few examples of the measures taken by our district Safety and Security Director and school sites to prepare students for an emergency.

Sapulpa Public Schools works with Sapulpa Police Department to contract a School Resource Officer (SRO). Sapulpa Police and other local law enforcement agencies can also assist with emergency preparedness, prevention, recovery, and response. All students, staff members, and parents should immediately report any suspicious activity or potential threats to a school or district administrator or the Safety and Security Director. All reports are taken very seriously.


Reporting Concerns
Sapulpa Public Schools strives consistently to maintain a safe and secure school environment. If you see or hear something suspicious, say something!

Vector Alert, an anonymous threat and safety reporting tool, was made available starting in January 2024. If you have information about a threat to our safety, do your part and report it. You do not have to leave your name. The tip reporting service will be monitored during school hours on school days. In an emergency, dial 911.

Safety and Security Staff
Sapulpa Public Schools Director of Safety and Security Glenn Coffey supervises school campus and district facility security and safety procedures. He works in conjunction with School Resource Officers Kayla Martin and Jason Hedges of the Sapulpa Police Department. Sapulpa Police and Creek County Sheriff's Office also provide additional law enforcement presence throughout the school day and when needed for incidents and district events. Mr. Coffey and Officers Martin and Hedges have an office at Sapulpa High School but move throughout the district during the school day. Officer Martin began as SRO in January, 2024, and Officer Hedges started in April, 2024.

In the fall of 2023, SPS welcomed two additional safety and security officers, retired Tulsa Fire Marshal Matt Stewart and retired Sapulpa Police Captain Steve Thompson. Thompson and Stewart are licensed as armed security. Stewart offices at Freedom Elementary and provides security support at Bartlett Academy and Liberty Elementary. Thompson's office is located at Sapulpa Middle School and provide support at Jefferson Heights and Holmes Park Elementary. Both will be on-call district-wide in case of emergencies.
