Sapulpa Public Schools is committed to providing comprehensive educational services to all students, including students with disabilities. All eligible children with disabilities, ages 3 through 21, who are residents of the Sapulpa Public Schools District, have a right to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) as mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1997 (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The district adheres to the policies and practices set forth under IDEA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the State Department of Education.

Sapulpa Public Schools provides special education and related services for students identified as disabled under IDEA and who require such services in order to receive an educational benefit and a free appropriate public education (FAPE). Special education programs and related services are provided for students with the following disabilities:

  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Orthopedic Impairment
  • Speech and Language Impairment
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Deaf/Hearing Impaired

Child Find

Sapulpa Public Schools is committed to the goal of identifying, evaluating and locating every child with a disability who resides within the boundaries of the district, and who is not receiving special education services, including children who are homeless, wards of the state or attending private schools (view Child Find Policy). Referral and personally identifiable information will be considered confidential and protected under the regulations of implementing the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
