(SPS) -- Three 2023 Sapulpa High School graduates received national recognition for their academic achievements.

The College Board recognized Riley Groves, Farrah Meade, and Sara Pagan with AP Scholar Awards for their placement on AP (Advanced Placement®) Exams.

The AP Scholar Award is granted to students who receive a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

Riley Groves took three exams including AP U.S. History, AP Language and Composition, and AP Music Theory. He is majoring in Music Education at The University of Tulsa and is a member of the Sound of the Golden Hurricane Marching Band, the TU Symphony Orchestra, and the TU Wind Ensemble.

"Sapulpa High School's AP curriculum helped me prepare for college by allowing me to explore collegiate-level material while still in high school," said Riley. "It exposed me to new lessons that aren't typically covered in high school courses which helped ease the transition from high school to college."

Farrah Meade is attending the University of Denver, where she's earned scholarships to fund more than 80% of her tuition.

Farrah is majoring in Ecology and Biodiversity and is in the Women in STEM Club. She took the AP Biology exam, and received the highest possible score of 5 on both the AP Literature and AP Calculus AB exams.

Sara Pagan is majoring in Music Education at The University of Tulsa. She rook four AP exams including AP Literature, AP Music Theory, AP U.S. History, and AP Calculus.

"The AP classes that I took in high school helped prepare me for the workload that I now have in college, and helped me boost my GPA when applying to universities," said Sara.

Students interested in enrolling in AP courses should speak to their counselor.

Congratulations to Riley, Farrah and Sara on their accomplishments. We are proud of you!
