New Chieftains boys soccer coach announced

Kenny Kinzer(SPS) -- Kenny Kinzer was introduced as the Sapulpa Chieftains boys soccer head coach on Monday.

The Sapulpa School Board of Education unanimously approved the hire after returning from Executive Session during its regular June meeting.

From playing competitively as a youth to coaching in high school, recreational leagues, and club leagues, Kinzer comes to Sapulpa having been involved in soccer his entire life.

He was the girls soccer head coach at Broken Arrow High School for 10 years where his teams won three state championships, seven district titles, and seven conference championships. Kinzer has been a two-time All State coach and had three teams finish in the top 20 in the Umbro/Adidas National Poll (1994, 1995, and 1998). He was also named the National Women’s High School Soccer Coach of the Year in 1995.

Kinzer has amassed a career coaching record of 111-13-3 and helped approximately 90 percent of his players earn college scholarship offers.

Kinzer comes to Sapulpa from Rogers, Arkansas where he taught AP U.S. History, World History, and Human Geography and Psychology at Haas Hall Academy.

In addition to teaching, Kinzer has held several administrative roles. He has served as Principal at Centennial Middle School and North Intermediate High School in Broken Arrow, Principal at Oologah Middle School, Director of ELL at Oologah Public Schools, and Assistant Principal at Childers Middle School in Broken Arrow.

Kinzer will teach 8th grade U.S. History at Sapulpa Junior High School.
