(SPS) -- Sapulpa Public Schools launched a district-wide kindness initiative this fall. Each Thursday is designated "Thoughtful Thursday," during which students at every school site will see and discuss kindness in action. While the lesson typically focuses on a human individual's acts of kindness, this one is about man's best friend: a dog who learned to walk like a human!

In the third installment of Thoughtful Thursdays, students will learn about adaptability from Dexter, a dog who was severely injured when he was hit by a car. They will think about the importance of adaptability in their own lives after learning from Dexter.

The goal of this week's Kindness 101 presentation, as always, is to show students that kindness is our culture, and that their words and actions can positively impact our community 365 days a year.
