Three Sapulpa grads named AP Scholars

(SPS) -- Three 2022 Sapulpa High School graduates received national recognition for their academic achievements.

The College Board recognized Maggie Blomfield, left; Alexa Farris, middle; and Kalysta Jacobs, right, with AP Scholar Awards for their placement on AP (Advanced Placement®) Exams.

The AP Scholar Award is granted to students who receive a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. 

Maggie took a total of four AP Exams, including AP Biology, Music Theory, Psychology and U.S. History. Alexa took three AP Exams, receiving a perfect score of 5 in AP Calculus, European History, and U.S. History. Kalysta completed four exams, including AP Biology, European History, Psychology and U.S. History.

Maggie, who graduated following her junior year while taking concurrent college courses, is currently taking prerequisite nursing classes at Tulsa Community College and plans to attend Oklahoma State University Institue of Technology in January to study nursing.

Alexa is attending Oklahoma State University, where she was awarded a scholarship as a National Merit Finalist. Alexa was involved in leadership with the Big Blue Band while attending Sapulpa High School.

Kalysta, who was involved in Speech, Debate and Theatre while attending Sapulpa High School, is now studying at the University of Oklahoma.

All three graduates were members of National Honor Society at Sapulpa High School.
