
(SPS) -- The Book and Snack Mobile is a converted school bus that has been gutted and replaced with shelves containing books, a refrigerator to hold cold water, and cabinets to stock snacks all in an effort to keep children reading and fed throughout the summer months. It will travel around the community to select locations on designated days this summer between May 31 and July 28.

TUESDAYS
10 to 11:45 a.m. - First United Bank (Main & Taft)
12 to 12:45 p.m. -First Baptist Church (Free lunch and story time)
WEDNESDAYS
10 to 10:45 a.m. - Kelly Lane Park
11 to 11:45 a.m. - Davis Park
12 to 12:45 p.m. - BTW Rec Center
THURSDAYS
10 - 11:45 a.m. - First Church of God (Art Activities)
12 - 12:45 p.m. - Liberty Park
2ND SATURDAY
May 14 - Open House 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Caring Community Friends
June 11 - Farmer's Market 9 - 11 a.m.
July 9 - Farmer's Market 9 - 11 a.m.
Aug. 13 - Back2School Bash 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Sapulpa High School
Children will be able to board the bus and check out a book. Snacks will be offered outside of the bus.
The bus is a partnership between the school district and
Caring Community Friends, Creek County’s largest community food bank and emergency assistance agency.
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma approved the Book and Snack Mobile as a summer feeding site which will provide children with high-quality, kid-friendly meals without needing the capacity for refrigeration or food preparation when they visit the bus.
