Teachers meet with architectural firms to give input on bond development

(SPS) -- Sapulpa High School and Junior High teachers initially met for a brainstorming with Reed Architecture and Interiors and DLR Group during professional development in February, 2022, to share what they would like to see in a new campus.

Reed and DLR met with teachers again in September, 2022, during a professional development workshop. They were able to hone their ideas and talk specifically about their needs and visions for a new high school.

Teachers broke into separate discussion groups by department, including art, music, athletics, agriculture, media/library, and subjects such as STEM, foreign language and English, so they could focus specifically on departmental objectives for a new building.

Throughout the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters, teachers and departmental groups continued to meet individually with architects to discuss the future project.

Sapulpa Public Schools Superintendent Rob Armstrong says it is absolutely critical to involve our teachers, administrators, students and community throughout the bond development process.
