Student Art Show winners chosen

(SPS) -- The Sapulpa Student Art Show is going on now. The public is invited to stop by Tuesday, April 26, between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. to enjoy masterpieces created by Sapulpa students.

Sapulpa Arts will hosted a reception for the Sapulpa Public Schools Annual Student Art Exhibit on Monday, April 25. 

The exhibit featured hundreds of entries created by Sapulpa Middle, Junior High, and Senior High School students.

Categories of the artwork include:
- Pencil
- Colored pencil
- Paint
- Pastel
- Mixed media
- Pen and ink
- Watercolor
- Printmaking
- Sculpture
- Digital art
- Ceramics
- Charcoal
- Conte
- Stained glass
- Pottery

Awards presented include:
- Best of Show: Seniors Adrian Bailey, Chloe Horath, Freshman Emariah Scott 
- Judge’s Choice: Seniors Jasmine Cathey, Chloe Horath, Mackinzie Ellis, Devin Miller
- Outstanding Senior Artists: Devin Miller, Mackinzie Ellis, Adrian Bailey, Chloe Horath, Mackenzie Bales, Maddie Braswell, Frankie Callahan, Erykah Talley, Jacie Fox, Bre Bliss, Kaylee Whitchurch, Teaghen Melhorn, Nathaniel George
- First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention awards were given in each category by a panel of local artists and art enthusiasts.



The exhibit is coordinated by Sapulpa High School art instructors Candice McClanahan and Jolene Martin; Junior High School art instructors Kelsey Philpott and Carmen Taylor; and Middle School School art instructor Allie Ruth.
