Sapulpa NHS completes over 600 service hours

(SPS) -- The Sapulpa National Honor Society chapter has completed over 600 hours of service this school year. Throughout the school year the chapter has also collected food for Caring Community Friends, children's books for a local elementary school teacher, items for the local Blue Star Mothers chapter, and basic comfort items for a local nursing home.

Additionally, the chapter organized and ran an American Red Cross blood drive around the holidays.

Last week, seven juniors and 20 sophomores were inducted into NHS. Inductees were required to complete a service project and donate to a drive, and they did so very quickly and with a positive spirit.

"I am excited to see this group's service mindset grow and develop over the next year," said NHS sponsor Sarah Bacon.

Congratulations to NHS' new inductees!

Ms. Bacon says the 2023 NHS executive board includes some of the hardest workers she has advised at Sapulpa High School.

"I am so proud of their efforts to organize all the service projects and drives," said Ms. Bacon. "They have demonstrated mature, responsible and dedicated leadership."
