Sapulpa grad named National Merit Semifinalist

(SPS) -- Congratulations to Noah Williams, who was named a National Merit® Semifinalist Wednesday. Williams (SHS 2024) graduated as a junior in May and earned a full, four-year scholarship to Dartmouth College through QuestBridge.

Williams, now a freshman at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire, received the prestigious honor based on performance on the Preliminary SAT (PSAT). Nationwide, the number of semifinalists is less than 1% of all high school seniors.

The National Merit® Scholarship Program selected approximately 16,000 students nationwide, including 81 in Green Country. The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state's percentage of the national total of graduating seniors. Williams joins these gifted students with an opportunity to continue in the competition for one of 6,870 National Merit® Scholarships worth a total of nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring.

National Merit® Finalists will be announced in February.
