Sapulpa FFA has a stellar fall

(SPS) -- From Tulsa State Fair showings, to welding competitions, and a great performance at the state competition, Sapulpa FFA is having a stellar fall season.
Sapulpa FFA's Opening and Closing Ceremonies team traveled to the State competition in Stillwater last week. They made it to the final round and placed 5th overall in the state contest. Each year the contest starts with more than 300 teams, so placing 5th is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations!
On October 10, Sapulpa FFA hosted its first Welders Rodeo (pictured upper left), which is part of the newly established OKFFA Welding Series. Throughout the day, 35 teams completed a tool identification test, welding knowledge test, and a 3.5 hour build-off of a firewood rack.
Many students showed livestock at the Tulsa State Fair. Students also spent time in the classroom making life cycle posters, wildflower books, entomology boxes, and showed ag mechanics projects. On the final weekend of the fair, Sapulpa FFA assisted with the Cattle Dog Trials. Fair results can be found on the Sapulpa FFA Facebook page.
