(SPS) -- Sapulpa High School FFA students attended the 95th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis last week.

At the convention, Sapulpa's FFA Chapter was recognized with a National 3 Star Chapter Award. The National Chapter Award program recognizes chapters that "actively implement the mission and strategies" of FFA, according to ffa.org: "emphasizing growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture." To receive the award, chapters must complete at least 15 activities and receive a gold rating by their state FFA association.

While on their trip to Indianapolis, FFA students observed different areas of the agricultural industry.

They toured Reproductive Specialties Group, which specializes in small ruminant (cattle, goat, sheep) reproduction. They also stopped by Tuttle Orchards to learn about the planting and harvesting processes for apples. Their final stop was Quiet Harmony Elk Ranch, which spans 150 acres. They had the opportunity to see the working facilities and paddocks.

Congratulations, students!
