Stailee Heard nominated for McDonald's All-American Games(SPS) -- Sapulpa High School senior basketball player Stailee Heard is a nominee for the 2023 McDonald's All-American Games, a prestigious nomination for high school basketball players.

Stailee is one of 722 high school basketball players from 44 states and the District of Columbia to be nominated. She is one of only ten players (five girls, five boys) from Oklahoma.

"To rising basketball stars, a McDonald’s All American Games nomination is the culmination of hard work and determination spanning many years of constant grind in the gym to become one of basketball’s elite," read the McDonald's All-American Games press release. "This class of nominees will follow in the footsteps of all-time legends, like Shaquille O’Neal, Candace Parker, Kobe Bryant, A’ja Wilson, Trae Young, Breanna Stewart and so many more."

“Providing a national platform to elevate and honor these players is what the McDonald’s All American Games is all about,” said Joe Wootten, McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee Chairman. “We’ve been doing this for over four decades and have seen some truly amazing kids come through this iconic program. That’s why this moment is so special…the history, prestige and all that comes with it. These players are joining a long list of icons to be named nominees to the Games and it’s something that will never be taken away.”

And this year, Sapulpa's own Stailee Heard is considered one of the elite.

Congratulations to Stailee, who has signed to play with the Oklahoma State Cowgirls starting in the fall.

Final line-ups for the McDonald's All-American Games will be revealed on January 24 on NBA Today between 2-3 p.m. CT on ESPN. 24 girls and 24 boys will be chosen for the final rosters. Games will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston in March.
