(SPS) -- The Chieftains Varsity Volleyball team is set to go to the state tournament as 5A Regional Champions for the third straight season.
The team defeated Newcastle 3-0 Monday at Chieftain Center.
This was the second year in a row Sapulpa has hosted the regional volleyball tournament.
Head Coach Corey Harp and Assistant Coach Anna Bezhan are extremely proud of this team, which conquered major rivals throughout the season including ranked teams Claremore, Collinsville and Santa Fe South.
The Chieftains head to Noble and Newcastle October 20-22 to battle in the state tournament. They take on Bishop McGuinness in the first round on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 11:15am.
