(SPS) -- After finishing as the runner-up team in OSSAA District 6A-II, region 2, the Chieftains head to the state playoffs.
As runner up to Sand Springs in their district, the Chieftains earned the right to a bye in the first round. Sapulpa will host Choctaw in the quarterfinal game on Friday, November 21, at 7 p.m. at Collins Stadium.
Tickets are available for discount general admission purchase at GoFan for $8.35 in advance, or will be $10 at the gate. OSSAA passes will be the only passes accepted.
Notes for attending the game:
- Collins Stadium has a clear bag policy.
- Please park in the gravel lots North or Southwest of the stadium; there will be limited parking in the main lot.
Under head coach Tim Holt in his fifth season at Sapulpa, the Chieftains finished the regular season with six wins and just one loss in the district, and a 7-3 record.
Sapulpa has never won a state football championship or been to the semi-finals. The Chieftains did meet Choctaw in the quarterfinals last November, falling to the Yellowjackets. This repeat game is a big one for the Chieftains, as they look to move on to the state semi-finals!
