MARINE CORPS JROTC

Prerequisite: Counselor and JROTC Instructor Approval
Credit Value: .5 per semester/Elective
Course Description: The Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) is a leadership course for young men and women. Two Marine instructors will teach this course with the following emphasis: leadership and character development, physical fitness, marksmanship, history, and military science. Marine Corps JROTC is not a recruitment program for the military, and students have no obligation to serve in the Armed Forces. All uniforms will be furnished by the program and are worn once per week. Physical fitness activities will occur weekly during class periods.
MARINE CORPS JROTC COMPETITIVE WORKSHOP
Full-Year Class
Grades: 10-12
Prerequisite: Instructor approval, sustained academic eligibility, and enrollment in Marine Corps JROTC
Credit Value: .5 per Semester/Elective
Course Description: Competition Armed/Unarmed Drill, Color Guard, and Competitive Marksmanship will be taught. Two Marine instructors will teach this course. Teams will practice for 1 hour after school each day for continued training. The main emphasis will be to prepare for competition against other schools. This class is only available to current JROTC cadets who are enrolled in the Marine Corps JROTC class
