STRONG READERS ACT

At Sapulpa Public Schools, our educators are committed to helping each student build a strong reading foundation needed for long-term success. These efforts are guided by Oklahoma's Strong Readers Act (SRA), or Oklahoma Statute 70 O.S. § 1210.508C(J).
Our district is committed to transparency and literacy improvement through the Strong Readers Act. The district has posted site-level spreadsheets to meet state requirements and reflect our school’s data and policies.* Each spreadsheet
includes information such as the number of students meeting or not meeting grade-level benchmarks, proficiency rates, IEP performance, and time allocated to reading instruction.

All data is reported in accordance with OSDE guidelines and privacy protections. These resources provide a clear picture of our ongoing efforts to support early literacy and ensure every student becomes a strong reader. The ability to read proficiently by the end of third grade significantly reduces the need for remediation in middle and high school and lowers the risk of a student dropping out of school because he or she is unable to read.
