STEM students place at Tulsa Engineering Challenge

(SPS) -- Four students in Sapulpa Junior/Senior High School's STEM classes attended the annual Tulsa Engineering Challenge, hosted by the Tulsa Engineering Foundation at Expo Square in March.

Every student who entered a project earned a top spot in the challenge! Cash prizes were awarded to every first, second, and third place finalist, as well as to the classroom teacher. SHS STEM teacher Ken Cole received $100 for projects.

The students who placed in the challenge are:
-Brooklyn Akers, Junior - 1st Place Digital Poster
-Bryce Martinson, Senior - 1st Place Ping Pong ball launcher
-Darren Higgins, Junior - 2nd Place Ping Pong ball launcher
-Miguel Quiroz, Freshman - 3rd Place Rubber band powered vehicle
