(SPS) -- Sapulpa teachers are seeking donations through DonorsChoose, posting a variety of new projects to the district's DonorsChoose website.

SPS formed a partnership with the national nonprofit last school year to help teachers tap into a network of four million donors to support classroom projects and align with district strategy and operations.

Teachers in Sapulpa Public Schools have raised $123,132 and completed 210 projects on DonorsChoose. Donations to these projects fund classroom tools, sensory items, laptops and other technology.

"I have nine students on nine different levels of learning," said Caren Codding, Freedom Elementary Special Education teacher. "[With DonorsChoose], I have made over a hundred task boxes for my kids."

Mrs. Codding was also able to get a document camera for her classroom.

"It is very important for this group to be able to see exactly what I do when we are working on activities in class," said Mrs. Codding. "The document camera works very well with my Smart Board. I can take whatever we are working on and put it under the camera. It is a life saver for my class!"

Other funded projects include a LEGO wall at Liberty STEM Elementary library, motivational stamps, washable baskets, lap pads and furniture.

Sapulpa Public Schools is one of more than 120 members of the DonorsChoose District Partnership Program.

As part of the partnership, SPS will be able to monitor all donated materials, principals will be notified each time a project is funded, and receive early notification when there are new "match" funding opportunities.
