File image from 2018(SPS) -- The weather held up just long enough for the 115th Commencement Ceremony for Sapulpa High School on Friday night.

With a mild temperature and cloudy skies overhead, the graduates entered George F. Collins, Jr. Stadium at 7:30 p.m. to the time-honored tradition of Pomp and Circumstance for the processional.

Following the rendition of the National Anthem by Victoria Robbins, Salutatorian of the Class of 2021, and the singing of "A Million Dreams" by the Sapulpa High School Choir, senior McKenzie Beesley delivered the Valedictorian speech. She spoke about the resiliency of the Senior class and how they can be the drivers to deliver us back to a better society.

You can watch McKenzie speech here.

McKenzie was one of nine Valedictorians including; Evan Casey, Emma Castleberry, Leona Crowl, Jaylan Martin, Madison Masters, Ana Pagan, Ashley Scott, and Morgan Tuttle.

The Class of 2021 also included seven Salutatorians; Evan Burton, Paige Contractor-Janitz, Haley McCarty, Victoria Robbins, Heather Sparks, Chloe Voss, and Morgan Webb.

Principal Seth Shibley presented the senior class to Superintendent Rob Armstrong and the Sapulpa School Board of Education for graduation to begin the recognition of the 286 graduates. Each graduate heard his or her name called as they ascended the stage to receive their diploma jacket under a light rain.

Soon after Preston Coffey, the final graduate to be recognized, cleared the stage and joined his classmates, Principal Shibley asked the graduates to stand and turn their tassel. Following a count of three, the caps flew through the air signifying the end of the seniors' high school careers.
