Baseballer wins Core Value Award for Jan.

Chase Carr and Athletic Director Michael Rose(SPS) -- As the calendar flips to February, it’s time to recognize a Sapulpa Chieftains student-athlete for his efforts on and off the playing field.

Senior Chase Carr received the Sapulpa Chieftains Athletics Core Value Award for the month of January on Tuesday.

The award is given monthly to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the values of Sapulpa Chieftains Athletics - character, humility, commitment, integrity, self-control, mental toughness, team, responsibility, honor, and service.

The winner is selected after nominations are submitted by the coaches and reviewed by the athletics department. In this case, winners.

Chase was recognized for the Core Value of Mental Toughness.

“Chase has never allowed his circumstances to be a distraction or excuse on either the football or baseball fields. He works hard in the weight room and has shown a mental toughness very few can relate to,” said Athletic Director Michael Rose as read from the nomination form describing Chase.

The Core Value Award is sponsored by Tier One Lawn. Winners of the award receive a QuikTrip gift card courtesy of Tier One.
