Chromebook distribution at Jefferson Heights Elementary(SPS) -- Staff at Freedom, Liberty, Jefferson Heights, and Holmes Park elementary schools handed out Chromebooks for students in Pre-K through 5th last week.

Sapulpa Public Schools students in grades 6 through 12 are assigned a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year as part of our 1:1 Chromebook Initiative. Students in elementary school, however, do not take home the Chromebooks.

Understanding that Distance Learning is not a traditional means for instruction, we surveyed elementary school parents to see if they would like a school-issued Chromebook for their students to help ease the transition to learning from home. The response was so overwhelming that we had to cut off the Chromebook request form to process the submissions we had received and complete the distribution in two waves.

Nearly 800 Chromebooks were tagged, inventoried, bagged, and distributed on April 8 and 9. The second wave resulted in another 342 requests. The date of distribution for those will be April 16 between 4 and 7 p.m. at the elementary school sites.
