Sara ArundellSapulpa High School senior Sara Arundell is just two goals away from tying the school record for career goals. The record currently belongs to her head coach, Lori Arundell. Sara's mother.

Lori set the record of 44 goals scored in a career in 1992. Sara has 42 goals with 13 games left in the regular season.

Sara goes for the record Tuesday, March 10 at home against the Chieftains' Highway 97 rival, Sand Springs.

If three goals in a game in order to break the record sounds like a lot, consider this. In the first two games this season, Sara has scored eight times - twice in the season-opening 7-0 win over Newcastle and six times in the Lady Chieftains 9-0 shutout of Putnam City.

When Sara breaks the record she will then own two records her mom previously held. Last season, she scored 20 goals to set the single-season scoring record. The record had previously been 16 in a season.

Sara has signed to play collegiately at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

The girls' game kicks off at 6 p.m. followed by the boys' game at 8 p.m. at the Westside Sports Complex.
