Student art show set for April 23 - 25

Student art show(SPS) - Sapulpa Arts will host a reception for the Sapulpa Public Schools Annual Student Art Show on April 23.

The reception, open to the public, will be held at Sapulpa High School gymnasium between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The exhibit will feature more than 1,500 entries created by approximately 600 Sapulpa Middle, Junior High, and Senior High School students.

Categories of the artwork include:
  • Pencil
  • Colored pencil
  • Paint
  • Pastel
  • Mixed media
  • Pen and ink
  • Watercolor
  • Printmaking
  • Sculpture
  • Photography
  • Ceramics
Awards to be presented include:
  • Best of Show
  • Judge’s Choice
  • Outstanding Senior Artists
  • First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention awards will be given in each category by a panel of local artists and art enthusiasts.
Exhibit viewings:
  • Wednesday, April 24, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 25, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
The public is welcome to the Wednesday, Thursday viewings but must check in at the office to receive a guest pass.

On Monday, art students spent their class time setting up the artwork in the gym getting it ready for the show.
