Sapulpa Spanish students(SPS) - Hola, Joplin.

A group of Sapulpa Junior High and High School Spanish students took their lessons outside the classroom and up the turnpike to Joplin, Missouri on Friday.

Approximately 50 students participated with 24 other schools in the Foreign Language Field Day at Joplin High School.

The event is an opportunity for students to participate in competitions such as geography, translation, reading, culture, grammar, and vocabulary.

We had students compete in reading, translation, grammar, poetry reading, and poster creation. The results of those competitions were just announced and one of our own was recognized.

Sophomore Emma Castleberry won 2nd place in Vocabulary Level 3, which is quite remarkable considering she's currently studying Level 2 Spanish.

Along with Spanish, competitions are held for students taking French and German.
