Hair Donation Event(SPS) - In front of a gymnasium packed with students, teachers, relatives, and TV cameras, 20 students and staff got a hair cut.

Sort of.

They had their hair trimmed all in the name of a good cause.

It was a hair donation event in which the hair that was cut will be donated to Children with Hair Loss, a nonprofit that provides free wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer, illness, or injury.

This was the third hair donation event at Freedom Elementary.

Those who donated put their hair into pigtails of at least 8 inches of hair and when the time was called, the person they selected to be their "stylist" got to cutting.

In total, 175 inches - nearly 14 and a half feet of hair - was cut!
