Junior High Principal accepts position with Sapulpa Public Schools administration

(SPS) - Amy Riff has graduated from Sapulpa Junior High School. So to speak.

Riff, who served as principal the past two years, accepted the Digital Curriculum Coordinator position with Sapulpa Public Schools.

She replaced Donia Doudican who accepted another position with the district.

In her role as DCC, Riff will work on the Teaching and Learning team with her focus this year ensuring math curriculum is aligned across the district so teachers, and students, have what they need in the classroom. She will also be involved with all aspects of our virtual curriculum.

In addition to being the Junior High Principal, Riff has also been the Assistant Principal at the Junior/Senior High School as well as at Sapulpa Middle School.

Her career began at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa teaching math before she moved to Bixby Middle School.

Riff said that it will be tough not being around the students every day.

"You get into education for the students. You want to see the light bulb go on in their eyes," she said. "But, knowing that I'm going to be helping the teachers to be able to turn that light bulb on is the aspect of this job that I'm very excited about."

Congratulations, Mrs. Riff.

Sapulpa Public Schools has announced Dru Dixon as Principal of Sapulpa Junior High.
