2019 Teachers of the Year receive gift from SeneGence

2019 Teachers of the Year(SPS) - What a surprise!

To kick off the final day of the first semester, employees were invited to an all-staff assembly before we close up shop for the winter break.

During the assembly, Superintendent Rob Armstrong recapped our 2018 United Way Campaign and recognized our employees for contributing $32,283, more than 30 percent above our goal.

As a bonus, each name of the 305 employees who donated to United Way was written on a piece of paper and thrown into a box for Santa Claus. The big guy pulled names to determine the winner of some great gifts - Senor Pablo's gift card, Starbucks gift card, Oklahoma City Thunder tickets, and more.

But the biggest surprise was when the 2019 Teachers of the Year were recognized and brought to the front of the auditorium. Each of the eight teachers received a $1,000 check from SeneGence International. It was an incredibly generous gift from one of our community partners. Thank you, SeneGence!

It was a fantastic close to the 2018 year and jumpstart to 2019!

We produced short videos with our Teachers of the Year in which each of them talked about being a teacher and how much their students mean to them. Click on the teacher's name below to watch their video on our YouTube channel.
